It’s Monday, Let’s raise a glass to the beginning of another week. It’s time to unscrew, uncork or saber a bottle and let’s begin Exploring the Wine Glass! Today I am sitting down with some other wine writers and we are discussing social media and wine.
It’s like a double edge sword. Social media is so important in our society today. Many people don’t watch the news anymore, or read the newspaper, they get their information from social media. Whether that’s good or bad, I don’t know, but when it comes to writing about wine and trying to share a story of a winery on social media.. What is the best avenue to take? How do you determine which of the many social media sites you should focus on? How do brands determine which, dare I say the word - influencer - they choose to share their story?
Is our society just scrolling and tapping their way through life? Or are they reading and comprehending what is on their phones? We get down to the good, the bad and the ugly of using social media in the wine world.
