Master Class, Franciacorta

It’s Monday, Let’s raise a glass to the beginning of another week. It’s time to unscrew, uncork or saber a bottle and let’s begin Exploring the Wine Glass! Today we are travelling virtually to Italy thanks to a Master Class arranged by Napa Valley Wine Academy, America’s premier wine school. Franciacorta is located in the Lombardy region of northern Italy within the Brescia province, the region is nestled at the foothills of the Alps. Franciacorta refers not only to the name of the region, but the wine and the style of production. Franciacorta, like Champagne, makes their sparkling wines using the traditional French méthode champenoise, or “Classic Method,” with the second fermentation in the bottle. 

Join me as we dive into the very special region that produces exceptional sparkling wines led by Peter Marks Master of Wine and Giammario Villa Master Taster.
